All about Karma – weekend course with Venerable Namgyel
April 5, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - April 7, 2019 @ 4:00 pm160kr – 1450kr
This weekend course introduces you to the Buddhist concept of karma, the law of cause and effect, and what it means to take personal responsibility. The concept “karma” refers both to actions done, and also future actions of the three doors; our body, speech, and mind. We are actually creating new karma every day, every moment. And it all starts in the mind, as an intention.
Using examples from everyday life, we will analyze how actions determine their results – and cause us to experience either happiness or suffering. We will explore purification practices, such as meditation with four opponent powers. Instead of feeling guilty – which is not a constructive state of mind, we learn to deal with problems of life in a more constructive way, for instance by doing this kind of meditation. We´ll also present a daily meditation on karma.
All About Karma weekend course is open for everyone, for non-Buddhists and Buddhists – everyone who wants to learn what this well-known term really means, and not just having lots of assumptions about it. It can be studied independently – or as one of the fourteen modules being offered in the Discovering Buddhism program, which is now going on now at Yeshe Norbu Mind Training Centre.
Friday, April 5 at 19:00-21:00
Saturday, April 6 at 10:00 – 17:00
Sunday, April 7 at 10:00 – 16:00

Any money we make immediately goes back into running the centre, teaching mind training and helping people to lead happier lives through our courses and events. Any surplus goes to supporting the various community services of FPMT which we are affiliated with.
Yeshe Norbu is a non-profit organization and we value our place in the community immensely and hope you value our contribution as well.
Thus the price of our various courses and events are to be seen as recommended donations. To guide our visitors as to what a reasonable donation to pay is, we have three different "price levels" for all our events:
- Reduced price. This price is for people who for whatever reason have financial challenges, such as students or pensioners. (Our policy is to never turn anyone away if they can't afford to pay, so if even the reduced price is too much, please contact us.)
- Regular price. This is the price-point that covers the cost of running the events (venue, donations to teachers, travel costs, etc.) By paying this price you contribute to the centre being able to stay open and offer our program.
- Super generous price. If you want to support people of lesser means to attend courses and teachings, this price level offers an opportunity to practice generosity. This price is for people who feel they have a little extra to spare for the benefit of others.
To support the centre, you can consider becoming a member of the centre or of the non-profit (ideel förening) Yeshe Norbu. Last year (which was our first), more than 500 people attended our courses and events. Your support is enabling us to make a real difference. Have a look at the events we are currently offering.
