July 13, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - July 19, 2019 @ 6:00 pm
The Bodhicitta summer retreat will take place in a beautiful lakeside retreat centre surrounded by forest. Join like-minded people from different countries in the discovery of your inner potential for universal compassion and wisdom!
About the teacher:
Geshe Dorji Damdul has a unique ability to explain the profound concepts of Wisdom of Emptiness and Great Compassion in a way that is comprehensible to Western and Eastern audiences alike. His teaching style is very interactive and there is never a dull moment in Geshe la’s class. He has hundreds of devoted students around the world and he teaches frequently in countries such as Singapore, Israel, France, and Vietnam, not to mention the various Dharma centres in India, such as the Root Institute and Tushita. He has led his popular Bodhicitta retreat more than 15 times! After 15 years of studying the Buddhist philosophy at the Drepung Loseling Monastic University, Geshe la graduated with a highest possible Geshe Lharampa degree in 2002. He has had a passion for natural sciences since a young age and he actively participates in the dialogue between Buddhism and science.
Geshe la’s kind-heartedness and sincere concern for his students is exceptional. Shining the lamp of Dharma by teaching the Nalanda Buddhist Philosophy and by serving as the Director of Tibet House in Delhi, Geshe la is fulfilling the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, for whom he has also served as a Tibetan-English translator for many years. Geshe la perfected his English skills while studying at Cambridge University, where he also became familiar with the Western mindset and worldview.
We are truly blessed to have the chance to host this great Buddhist Master in the north of Europe.
Teachings are in English. Translation into Finnish is available. Translation into Russian will be arranged depending on the need.
