Establishing Daily Practice – 6 weeks course

August 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until September 25, 2019

This is a very practical course; we will also start and end every session with meditation. There will be a lot of time for Q&A, and time to exchange experiences with other dedicated students.

You will get the tools you need to develop a successful daily practice. Using Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s A Daily Meditation Practice – as a guide, become familiar with the elements necessary to generate realizations in the mind – slowly, step by step. We know now that the purpose of meditation is to familiarize with the constructive states of the mind. And bring the intellectual understanding to the heart, make it experiential. This happens only with continuous practice.
You´ll also receive tips for making daily actions meaningful, bring the meditation and mindfulness as part of your daily life, at home, at car/subway, at work, with the people you meet (And also the challenges these sentient beings constantly give us).

This Study Course is part of our Tibetan Buddhism Curriculum. (We offer also the Universal Education Curriculum, which is, as the name tells, based on Universal values). This course has the main focus on Buddhist practice, but all ideas about how to bring all our theoretical knowledge to daily life – is very welcome.

We will follow FPMT´s home study program of Discovering Buddhism – this is Module 8 (of 14). You´ll get audios to listen at home, and we start and end every session with meditation. We will also have a 2-day-retreat after finished 6-weeks studies.

You as a participant – can have taken refuge in Three Jewels, or might be considering about it.
After this we´ll have another 6-weeks course, Module 7 of DB; about Refuge in Three Jewels.
