Learn to Meditate – 4 weeks – English class

An event every week that begins at 6:00pm on Tuesday, repeating until March 26, 2019
We start very calmly with very short meditations and concrete things such as learning how to sit – on the chair or whatever is comfortable for you – and so on.
This is an introductory course; you learn simple meditation techniques – which can help you create more balance in your daily life. The purpose is also to transform negative states of mind into the more constructive, and to see the meditation as a more long-term process, and not just as temporary help for relaxation.
We start with a focus on breath meditation, which presupposes just relaxation because in modern society we are generally lacking in this ability.
The course includes four sessions – and we begin and end each session with meditation.

Various meditation techniques:
Meditations with focus on breath, and nine-round breathing.
Meditation with focus on mindfulness; scan the body, pure attention, see the mind like the clear blue sky.
What are the analytical meditations?
Meditations on the “Four Immeasurables“, loving-kindness, compassion, equanimity, and the development of constructive mental attitudes.
Meditations focusing on visualization techniques.
– There is nothing mysterious in meditation, it’s about learning the right technique and approach from the very beginning. Consider meditation as mental hygiene, useful, and something to do regularly. And eventually, it can lead to greater inner calm, better focus, and increased strength to cope with life’s challenges.
